Culinary Festival of the Lower Silesian Forests “But Pate”

12 October 2020

The Culinary Festival of the Lower Silesian Forests “But Pate” is a cyclical event aimed at promoting the cuisine of settlers from different parts of the country and the world assimilated in this region. Wondering about the common denominator connecting the rich mix of nationalities living in the region, we decided that pate is the dish that, regardless of the part of the globe, is indispensable in any kitchen. This year’s edition of the Festival was combined with a fair entitled Autumn Melting Pot of Flavors, that is, the Festival (and not only) of culinary traditions of the Lower Silesian Forests. Local producers, handicraftsmen and exhibitors will present themselves during the event. The whole event will be highlighted by performances of folk groups and the opportunity to taste dishes entered in competitions. As every year, these will include pâtés, liqueurs and one-pot dishes, or cauldrons, prepared before the eyes of the audience. The festival will take place on October 17 on the grounds of the castle in Kliczków (Osiecznica commune) from 10:00 a.m., while the struggle of amateur cooks from 12:00 p.m. We encourage everyone to compete and test their own recipes and their evaluation from the mouths of experts. The event is held under the patronage of the Lubuskie Regional Tourist Organization “LOTUR”.
