Tour the Świebodzin district and win attractive prizes! New safe tourist routes are waiting!

26 November 2020

Three new hiking trails – for hikers, cyclists and motorists – have been created in the Świebodzin district. The first tourists who overcome all the virtual trails and prove their feat will receive attractive prizes! We are talking not about typical paths marked in the field, but about quests – an unmanned and safe form of sightseeing, which is perfect for the COVID-19 pandemic. Explore the Świebodzin district and win prizes! The inauguration of the 3 routes is accompanied by a contest for the most persistent questers. The game is connected with the Passport. This is the latest publication of the Świeboda Local Tourist Organization, in which we can find as many as 6 quests. What do you have to do to take part in the fun? – Just go to the largest database of quests in Poland, the website www.questing.pl, download and print the Questovnik Passport and… set out on the road. At the end of the quest a stamp awaits, which you nail in the passport. If the quest ends in a building, for example, in a museum or restaurant, then in the Passport you have to write a password, which you guess throughout the quest. The one who gets 6 stamps and delivers a scan of the passport to kontakt@questing.pl can count on a gift. However, you need to hurry, because the number of prizes is limited! – Remember that the new routes we have made available are not the only quests in the Świebodzin district. – says Sylwia Kowalik-Lichuta of LOT Świeboda. – In total, we already have 6 of them in the district, and we have collected all of them into one publication: the Swiebodzin District Questovant’s Passport. The new routes are a chance to visit the Świebodzin area, have a great time with your loved ones, and at the same time win attractive prizes – gadgets that every tourist will find useful: backpacks, bicycle bags, fleece blankets, umbrellas, flashlights and many others.

What is questing?

Questing is a form of sightseeing originating in the United States. Everyone will find in it elements familiar from children’s games of trick-or-treating or field games.

– The game involves walking a route described in a leaflet. On the trail we will not find typical signage and road signs,” explains Zbigniew Szumski, starost of Świebodzin. – So what can we expect? First of all, a huge dose of surprising stories from the Świebodzin district. The fires and witch trials in Swiebodzin, the fortifications of the Miedzyrzecki Fortified Region or the history of the railroad are only a part of what the quests tell about. Powerful tasks, riddles and rebuses await tourists. Only the correct solution of the puzzles guarantees that we will discover all the secrets. And we will win prizes in the competition.

Safe touring during pandemic

You can quest alone or with your immediate family. Leaflets with descriptions of the routes can be easily downloaded from the largest database of quests in Poland – the website www.questing.pl . Tourists can explore the area by car, bicycle or on foot. The latter option leads through the streets, park and market square in Swiebodzin, where we can easily keep our social distance.

What will surprise the Świebodzin district?

According to experts from the Questing Foundation, the Świebodzin district is a dream place for lovers of riddles, mysteries and unique stories. All these elements are the basis of a successful quest.

– Each quest is led by a narrator, a fictional or historical character associated with the Świebodzin district. – says Edyta Lenart-Wojna, president of the Quesitngu Foundation – I can’t reveal their identity, as I would spoil all the fun then. I will only mention that we will meet a mysterious woman in Świebodzin. Under the cover of darkness, she will show us around the monuments and tell us about the dark events of the city’s history: fires and the famous witch trials.

An expert on the fortifications of the Międzyrzecz Fortified Region will also take us on a tour of the area. We will visit with him the bunkers near Ciborz and in Staropol, learn about the construction of unique bridges and dams.

The third guide’s name is Anna. She invites you on a bicycle trip. The route of about 17 kilometers begins in Darnawa. Along the way there will be no shortage of captivating panoramas and interesting sights. Anna will also tell a little about the interesting history of the railroad.

– Swiebodzin district surprises us with the amount of stories there are to tell. We hope that these are not the only quests that will be created in this area,” concludes Edyta Lenart-Wojna.
