We would like to inform you that in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) has changed the schedule of data publication and prepared information “Tourism in Poland in the Face of the COVID Pandemic”, which includes data on the use of accommodation in March this year, as well as estimates of spending by domestic and foreign tourists in the first and second quarters of this year (attached). If current travel restrictions are maintained in Q2 of this year, the loss associated with the lack of spending incurred in Poland on travel could range from about PLN 24.0 billion (taking into account the level of spending in Q2 of 2019) to about PLN 25.7 billion (assuming the growth rate of such spending in January-March from the past three years). The data on lost revenue in the first quarter of this year was also presented on a regional basis, so it is probably of interest to regional tourism organizations as well.
