Dear Citizens and Supporters of the Republic of Birds! Download images Download images The Year of the Green Woodpecker is passing quickly. Many Citizens of the Republic of Birds visited Sunsk during the vacations taking advantage of the scenic birding trails in the remote area. On them they met hoopoes, woodpeckers, kingfishers, kites and many other birds. Among them, there were also those who combined hiking with work: some cleaned the trails, others renewed the marking of woodpecker and woodpigeon trails. For this we sincerely thank them. For 18 years, many of you have come to the spring rallies. This year is special, because we invite you to a virtual rally in the fall. We have decided on a different convention for our recurring event so as not to put anyone in a precarious situation. The rally will begin on October 10, and for this day we are planning: – a tour for those who decide to come to Slonsk – the presentation of two YouTube videos for all those interested. Two more presentations will be made available in the second half of October. The videos will be prepared especially for the rally, by speakers who were scheduled to come to Slonsk for the April rally. We are already encouraging you to take part in the election of the 2021 Bird of the Year. To do so, you can use the voting form, or e-mail the name of the bird you have chosen from three candidates: the marsh eagle owl, the common snipe and the peregrine falcon. Voting continues until September 25. Shortly thereafter, we will announce the result of the election and the theme of the art contest.
