Trebuchet and catapult – machines modeled on medieval war constructions, stood today in the square by the Witches’ Tower. They were built on behalf of the city by Piotr Mroczka, a carpenter from Lubenia. They are intended to be another tourist attraction for the city and a reminder of its medieval origins. On September 26 at 13:00 a.m. a ceremonial presentation of them is planned, during which anyone interested in medieval warfare technology will be able to listen to a lecture on the subject. This is because Strzelce will host Robert Jurga, a researcher of the history of fortifications. The event’s organizers have prepared stylized booths, a medieval playground, and each participant will receive a shooting ducat as a gift.
